Battery Replacement Guide

  1. Figure 1. has an arrow that shows where to use a thin nail file or other thin object to gently pry apart the halves of your JD GEAR Hat Light.  Gently pry apart all of the 'friction posts' that keep your hat light together.

                       (Figure 1.)

  1. Figure 2. shows your JD GEAR hat light with the batteries taken out.  Notice the arrows. They are places that you need to watch when you reassemble the two halves.  The arrow at the LED is to remind you to keep the LED shoulder in the location groove of the two halves during reassembly.  The other arrow by the LED wire is to make you aware of how the LED wire should lay before your slide the new batteries into place.

                        (Figure 2.)

  1. Figure 3. shows the unique simplicity of the switch. Notice how the LED wire (lead) is bent to keep it away from the top surface of the batteries.  Notice how it is slightly curved to allow for a gentle spring action for the toggle switch to press against.  If your LED has been bent out of shape during the battery replacement process, gently bend the wires to form the shape shown in figure 3. (Remember that both batteries have their positive (+) sides down, toward the bottom wire.)

                         (Figure 3.)

We designed the JD GEAR hat light for many, many hours of long life.  Now that you know how to replace the batteries, you can use it over and over again, season after season. Of course, you should always have more than one hat light in your tackle box, backpack or wherever you are when you need your JD GEAR super bright LED hat light.
